There's nothing quite like music to lift the spirit. I have to admit my ability to listen to and enjoy music was greatly diminished when I lost the hearing in my right ear nearly 10 years ago now. The constant white noise is still annoying and greatly aggravated by loud noise. It has come to my attention that I don't listen to music like I used to. It's near impossible when I am the driver of my vehicle, and I have a passenger. Loud music and conversation are near impossible with my good ear facing the driver's side door.
With an emerging adolescent in the house that loves to sing, listen to, and play music I find that I am giving the act of listening to music a little more effort. The latest CD by Plumb, Exhale, is the first new CD I've had in I cannot even tell you how long. We brought it along on our latest field trip to the local aquarium. It was the perfect length for our hour long ride, and everyone enjoyed listening. We even recognized one of the songs from the radio.
Our enjoyment didn't stop there. I didn't realize how much the adolescent enjoyed the CD until she asked for special time to go on You Tube and look up songs from the album. There she discovered a video featuring Plumb talking about the back story to her song Lord, I'm Ready Know. It made a very positive impact on her, and she's still talking about it. In the short time that we've had the CD we have listened to it several times already. I have a feeling it will make it back into the player today during our Friday cleaning. No better way to get things done than to crank up good tunes!
